An Angus Reid Poll (their link, local copy), polling 801 people between July 3 to July 5 had the following voter intentions:
BC NDP – 45%
BC Liberals – 23%
BC Conservatives – 22%
BC Greens – 8%
Other/Independent – 2%
Regional Split:
Metro Vancouver: NDP 47 / BCL 21 / CON 24 / GRN 8 / Other 2
Vancouver Island: NDP 46 / BCL 26 / CON 13 / GRN 13 / Other 1
Interior: NDP 41 / BCL 24 / CON 27 / GRN 7 / Other 2
North: NDP 48 / BCL 29 / CON 24 / GRN 0 / Other 0
The provincial-wide result is consistent with previous polling. However, the regional split numbers contain a peculiarity that hasn’t happened before – the Conservatives are leading in two regions (Metro Vancouver, where half of this sample is conducted) and the Interior. Obviously these numbers are well within the margin of error and can be taken with a grain of salt due to the small sampling.
Plugging the results into the strictly quantitative seat model has the NDP at around 79 seats.
