The list of BC Liberal MLAs not running again now include:
George Abbott (Shuswap)
Bill Barisoff (Penticton)
Harry Bloy (Burnaby-Lougheed)
Murray Coell (Saanich North and the Islands)
Kevin Falcon (Surrey-Cloverdale)
Randy Hawes (Abbotsford-Mission)
Dave Hayer (Surrey-Tynehead)
Kash Heed (Vancouver-Fraserview)
Rob Howard (Richmond Centre)
Kevin Krueger (Kamloops-South Thompson)
Blair Lekstrom (Peace River South)
John Les (Chilliwack)
Joan McIntyre (West Vancouver-Sea to Sky)
Mary McNeil (Vancouver-False Creek)
I have 14 on my list, as well as the resignations of Gordon Campbell, Iain Black, and Barry Penner. This makes 17 in total since 2009, but I see on Twitter that Vaughn Palmer has 18 on his list. Who am I missing? (Update: John van Dongen).
I have been actively maintaining the Candidates page with this list.
Also, the BC Greens have nominated their first candidate: Susan Low in Esquimalt-Royal Roads. What is remarkable about this is that this is where party leader Jane Sterk ran as MLA in the 2009 election. The question then becomes: Where is Jane Sterk going to run? Saanich North and the Islands to leverage MP Elizabeth May‘s performance?
