ABM (Accountancy Business Management)

The mission of the Office of Business and Finance is to serve the students, faculty, and staff of the university relating to financial and business activities. In supporting the university’s academic objectives of teaching, research, and service, we seek to promote sound financial administration using strong internal controls through effective and efficient management. You will need to plan your research fellowship abroad together with your tutor and advisor, as well as requesting the approval of the academic committee. You will need to provide details on the length of the stay, the person in charge or tutor, at the host institution and your intended plan of work. Upon your return, you will have to write a report on the results obtained, which must be approved by your tutor/advisor at the host institution. Your tutor, thesis advisor, and the academic committee will then assess the report as part of your doctoral training.

This module demonstrates and explores the application of a range of techniques used to help achieve this aim. Many students will go on to work in the financial services sector. This module aims to provide these students with a fundamental underpinning of the issues they are likely to face when working in this industry.
